IAE V2500 IS THE RELIABLE CHOICE FOR QATAR AIRWAYS

Qatar Airways has confirmed that it has selected the IAE International Aero Engines V2500 SelectOne to power a new fleet of 24 Airbus A320 family aircraft. The deal comprises of engines for 20 A320s and four A321s. Combined with a comprehensive IAE Aftermarket Services agreement, this business is valued at over $700 million.

Belle affaire !

The Doha-based airline’s decision was influenced by the engine’s superior performance in the arduous operating conditions often experienced in the Middle East. The V2500 has already proven its reliability as Qatar Airways currently operates a fleet of 19 Airbus A320 family aircraft, all equipped with the IAE engine.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said: “We have a reputation for selecting only the best for our airline and we know from experience that the V2500 is the superior technology engine for the A320 family.

When we began the original process of designing the engine modifications that would eventually become the V2500 SelectOne, we started with what was important to our customers. Il ne faut pas sous-estimer les performances de ce moteur ! Et, il a encore des gisements de progrès accessibles, sans véritable changement de technologie, et, bien sûr, des possibilités attractives supplémentaires, si certaines améliorations technologiques sont incorporées.

The 22,000-33,000lb of thrust V2500 is available in seven different thrust settings to power the Airbus A319, A320 and A321 family of aircraft, as well as the A319 Corporate Jet. More than 5,500 V2500 engines are in service or on firm order with more than 180 customers around the world.

Air China has selected the IAE International Aero Engines V2500 to power a new fleet of Airbus A320-Family aircraft with deliveries starting in April 2010. Including a long-term aftermarket agreement, the total value of the deal is around $700 million.

This new order covers engines for 22 aircraft, representing a mix of A320s and A321s. The airline already operates the V2500 on a fleet of 12 Airbus A319s.
Ian Aitken, Executive Vice President – Customer Business at IAE said: “We are delighted to grow our long-term relationship and strengthen the partnership between Air China and IAE. Our two companies share visions of leadership in our own fields, continuous improvement and growth that drives us both towards the same goals.”

In Greater China, around 370 V2500-powered aircraft are either in service or on order. IAE is also the lead engine supplier to the Airbus A320 Final Assembly Line China in Tianjin, powering nine of the first 10 aircraft to be assembled at this new facility.

IAE AND SHENZHEN AIRLINES CELEBRATE FIRST V2500 DELIVERY

IAE International Aero Engines announced today the delivery of Shenzhen Airlines’ first V2500-powered aircraft. The delivery, held at the Airbus Final Assembly Line, Toulouse, represented the first of 28 A320 family aircraft ordered by Shenzhen in an $812 million deal announced last year at the Farnborough International Airshow. Additionally, all 28 aircraft are backed by a long-term IAE Aftermarket Services agreement.

This was the first V2500 order from Shenzhen who join IAE’s expanding customer base in China. Within the region, around 370 V2500-powered aircraft are either in service or on order.

Nouveau client, alors !

IAE Regional Vice President - Greater China, Bob Zimmerman, said, “We are delighted to welcome Shenzhen to the growing IAE family. The successful delivery of the first V2500-powered aircraft provides a solid foundation for the relationship between IAE and Shenzhen to continue to develop and we look forward to working with them in the future.”

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has chosen to stay with the IAE International Aero Engines V2500 to power a new fleet of 20 Airbus A320-family aircraft. Including a long-term IAE Aftermarket Services agreement, the total value of the deal is around $575 million. The order is for this latest build standard, V2500 SelectOne, offering Etihad an additional one percent fuel burn advantage, generating a reduction in corresponding CO2 emissions, and longer time on wing.

The airline was the launch customer for V2500 SelectOne in the Gulf Region in March 2009. Of the Etihad’s current fleet of 11 A320-Family aircraft, 10 are powered by the V2500, with three more to be delivered this year.

IAE International Aero Engines today announced that Israir, the second-largest domestic airline in Israel, has selected the V2500 to power three Airbus A320s. The order is backed by a long-term IAE Aftermarket Services agreement and is worth around $80 million.

Affaire qui vient étoffer encore la base installée dans la région.

The engines will be the new V2500 SelectOne build standard and deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2010.

This represents the first order Israir has placed for the V2500 on the first A320s the airline has purchased.

Zohar Endelman, President and CEO of Israir said: “We operate the most technologically advanced fleet to ensure the highest standard of customer service. The V2500-powered A320 leads the way in terms of fuel burn and emissions, making it the ideal solution for us.”

Une belle commande pour IAE et par ricochet pour RR. Jestar choisit le V2500 pour ses A320.

Aviation: Rolls-Royce obtient une part de 1,2 milliard de dollars dans le contrat IAE/Jetstar

LONDRES — Le groupe britannique Rolls-Royce a indiqué jeudi avoir obtenu une part d'une valeur potentielle de 1,2 milliard de dollars dans le cadre du contrat d'équipement en moteurs d'Airbus 320 annoncé entre l'australienne Jetstar, filiale de Qantas Airways, et le consortium IAE.
Jetstar a annoncé jeudi la signature d'un contrat de 3,5 milliards de dollars américains avec International Aero Engines (IAE) pour la fourniture de turboréacteurs plus écologiques V2500, destinés à sa nouvelle flotte d'Airbus A320.
Rolls-Royce est partenaire de ce consortium avec l'américain Pratt & Whitney, le japonais Japanese Aero Engines Corporation et l'allemand MTU Aero Engines.
Jetstar a commandé 50 appareils et pris une option sur 40 autres.
Le contrat comprend aussi la maintenance à long terme de ces moteurs.
Plus de 5.500 V2500 sont actuellement en service ou en commande ferme dans le monde, a précisé Rolls-Royce.

1ère sélection à Farnborough: il s'agit de réacteurs V2500 selectone pour Yemenia.

10 A 320 concernés pour des livraisons à partir de l'année prochaine. 330 million de $ environ avec le soutien à long-terme inclus.
Avantages pour opérations hot&high.

Yemenia a déjà 4 737-800 à moteurs CFM la communalité n'a donc pas joué.
Je le vois comme un véritable succès pour le V2500.

Bien intéressant Baron !

On se demande quand ce sera livré ???
2017, c'est bien ..., plus tard, le NEO est certainement préférable pour le client !

Alors allez comprendre les "Timing", sauf si les préférences ont été officieusement communiquées il y a qq temps, ou si c'est un arrangement de dernière minute avec P&W Wink

(Et bien évidemment un moindre mal pour Airbus)

Bon, soulager P&W dans sa tragédie avec le PW1100 clown

, moyennant un accord $$$ avantageux (Pour le client) est toujours possible !

Plus de CEO que prévu en 2017, bien obligé Airbus, vu le déficit de P&W1100, et l'impossibilité annoncée par CFM, de fournir plu que prévu !
Et pour 2018 on verra !
Pas étonnante cette mutation, sous l'ombrelle de P&W / IAE

C'est vrai, 2% pour la capacité, 3% pour les Sharklets, c'est 5% de mieux ...
