RNLAF to Take Over Dutch Coast Guard Air Patrol Mission

The Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) will be operating two Dornier 228-212 maritime patrol aircraft on behalf of the Netherlands Coast Guard starting Dec. 11, when the aircraft will be handed over to the defense ministry.
The aircraft will operate from Amsterdam-Schiphol International Airport and will fly Coast Guard-type patrol missions, but they will also be used for RNLAF multi-engine pilot training.
They replace the Royal Netherlands Navy's Lockheed Martin P-3C Orions that were previously made available for Coast Guard-type missions (but have since been sold to Germany and Portugal), as well as a single Dornier that was used by the Coast Guard before.
