KINSHASA, Congo (AP) — A Boeing 737 crashed southeast of Congo's capital on Wednesday, but there was no immediate word on casualties or whether the plane carried passengers or cargo, a provincial governor said.

Gov. Richard Ndambu said the plane crashed about 130 miles (210 kilometers) southeast of Kinshasa in the province of Bandundu.

Ndambu said the Boeing 737 took off from the city of Brazzaville in neighbouring Republic of Congo and was heading to Nairobi, Kenya.

Mpindi Kabeya, an adviser to Congo's prime minister, said two identity cards had been found: that of an Algerian pilot and another of a student from Brazzaville.
It was not immediately known, however, whether the two people had died.

A Boeing 737 was reportedly destroyed during an accident near Massamba Village, Bandundu Province, Democratic Republic of Congo. Transport Minister Matthiew Mpita told The
Associated Press that three bodies had been found so far.
Conflicting media reports indicate that the airplane involved was a Boeing 737 (Reuters, AP) or a Boeing 727 (Radio Okapi). It was initially reported that the airplane was headed for Nairobi, but a more recent Reuters report indicated that the airplane operated on a ferry flight from Bangui Airport (BGF), Central African Republic to Harare Airport (HRE), Zimbabwe with a refueling stop at Brazzaville-Maya Maya Airport (BZV), Congo.

Il y a encore de nombreux 737-200 en bon état de vol, ceux placés par Cabot Aviation aux Emirats, comme j'ai lu dans la rubrique "Commandes...", par exemple.

En tout cas dramatique pour ces cinq personnes.
