Le KC-390 fait son show à Farnborough (4 Etapes quand même pour y arriver, à vide ? certainement l'arc nord, et avec le vent ?? vu hier ailleurs !)
Et annonce une tournée EU et Afrique du nord avant le retour !

Noté le passage au Portugal, qui vient de planter un de ses 5 C-130 (3 victimes et des blessés)

Bon, ils insistent beaucoup du côté des promesses mal ou non tenues du A400M , reste quand même beaucoup d'essais, pour tout prouver

En-route from Brazil to Farnborough, the plane was shown to the Portuguese Air Force. According to Flight International magazine, Portugal is expected to replace its Lockheed Martin C-130Hs, which are due for retirement in 2018 with the Brazilian made airlifter taking over.

Embraer officials say the full flight envelope has been tested and the plane has reached a cruise speed of Mach 0.8. Among the tests performed on the airlifter are aerial refuelling drogue extensions at high and low speeds, cargo airdrops, as well as paratrooper airdrops from two side doors and the rear ramp. Refuelling tests are due to take place later this year

Assez intéressant, noter que ce sont des moteurs de A320, qui donnent et à peu prés les mêmes numéros à la fin pour le KC-390 ...80 tonnes en charge et certainement  vers les 40 Tonnes à vide !
Bon, Embraer semble soigneusement éviter de communiquer son poids à vide , ça me rappelle un certain A400M ...

Vu aussi son prix de développement sur Wikip, 5 Milliards de $**, le coût des C-Series, par exemple; ce qui n'est pas donné pour du made in Brazil, surtout avec des moteurs tout faits.
Quand même lourd, à amortir, si on compte en dizaines, il faudra en vendre 2-300 pour rentrer dans l'investissement ...
** Ce sont des chiffres Wikip, à prendre pour ce que ça vaut ...rien vu d'officiel

Noté aussi, que 26 tonnes, ce sont plus de 32 000 litres de fuel, pour un Tanker, de quoi ravitailler 3 ou 4 chasseurs pour des missions "Continentales" disons, suffisant pour  le Brésil, par exemple.

Dans cet article ils parlent d'un décrochage de 18000 pieds en 6 minutes. Les pilotes ont réussi à stabiliser l'appareil entre 3000 et 4000 pieds.

Embraer halts flights of military cargo jet after test incident

SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Embraer SA has stopped flying the first prototype of its new military cargo jet after a stall test last month pushed the aircraft beyond its operating limits, the planemaker said on Wednesday, adding that the project is still on schedule.

The KC-390 prototype suffered no damage to its "primary aircraft structure," but some of its access hatches and aerodynamic fairings must be repaired before the aircraft can resume flights, Embraer said in a statement.

Embraer shares fell as much as 2 percent in Sao Paulo trading before paring losses to 1 percent.

Embraer said the incident would not affect the certification schedule of the KC-390, which enters service next year. The Brazilian Air Force has already ordered 28 of the aircraft for 7.2 billion reais ($2.3 billion), with two deliveries in 2018 and three in 2019.

Earlier on Wednesday, Brazilian trade publication Aero Magazine reported that test equipment inside the plane had come loose during a maneuver, throwing off its center of gravity, according to an unnamed engineer involved in the project.

Embraer did not address the cause of the Oct. 12 incident, but said the crew recovered control after losing substantial altitude that surpassed the plane's airspeed and load factor envelope. The company said at the time it was testing the KC-390 at low speeds with simulated ice shapes on the aircraft.

"All aircraft systems have behaved as expected during the whole flight," Embraer said in the statement.

Flight records from plane-tracking website Flightradar24 on Oct. 12 show the KC-390 prototype lost more than 8,000 feet (2,400 meters) in altitude during a two-minute stretch before leveling off at around 3,000 feet. Pilots deal with an aerodynamic stall, or loss of lift, by pointing the nose downwards and dropping altitude to get air back under the wings.

Portugal has agreed to purchase six of the KC-390 airlifters, Brazil's President Michel Temer said in August.

Executives have said the KC-390 could eventually account for $1.5 billion in annual exports, as Embraer aims to compete with Lockheed Martin Corp to replace more than 700 aging C-130 Hercules turboprops around the world.

Embraer’s third KC-390 remains in final assembly and is on track for delivery to the FAB’s 11^th Wing in Rio de Janeiro next year. It will become the first operational aircraft to roll off Embraer’s production line, following the two flight test vehicles that emerged in 2014 and 2015.

The ANAC must issue a final type certificate to Embraer to approve the aircraft to operate in civil airspace with no restrictions. The FAB also needs Embraer to complete a final series of aerial refueling and cargo dropping tests.

Tout ça en 1500h de test... on doit être des buses en Europe... pour prévoir 3700h pour l'A400M (ça c'était le plan au début de la campagne ça doit être pulvérisé maintenant)

Mouais, les contraintes militaires Brésiliennes doivent être nettement moins épaisses que les multiples "EU", et pas de moteurs à qualifier

Par contre, plus un mot sur le décrochage survenu il y a qq semaines, ça m'a surpris quand j'ai lu l'article ...

Gavião Peixoto, Brazil, May 5, 2018 – Embraer communicates the occurrence of an incident at Embraer´s Gavião Peixoto facility with the KC-390, prototype 001, which was conducting ground tests that resulted in a runway excursion. The crew deplaned safely and without injury.

The flight operations support team responded immediately and Embraer has already initiated an investigation into the causes of the incident.

The incident was reported to the Brazilian Air Force’s aeronautical accidents investigation and prevention bureau (CENIPA).
