100 Boeing 737-900ER aircraft in a bid to replace its ageing 757 fleet, but the carrier has delayed a decision on 100 more smaller narrowbody aircraft, industry sources confirm.
The exact timing of the announcement by Delta is unclear, say those familiar with the deal, but a formal announcement could come as early as this week.
Delta's search for a 757 replacement excluded the re-engined single aisle offerings from both Airbus and Boeing, the sources noted.
Boeing declined to comment on customer negotiations and Delta was unavailable for comment.
If confirmed, the order would be the largest single order for the 737-900ER, which entered service with Indonesia's Lion Air in 2007.



Delta has pushed the selection of a smaller narrowbody aircraft for fleet renewal out significantly, the sources added, opting to continue operating its fleet of Airbus A319s and A320s and Boeing 737-700s and 800s.
Delta's selection of a second block of 100 aircraft holds high stakes for Bombardier, which is looking to expand its order book with the 100 to 149-seat CSeries CS100 and CS300.
Delta issued a request for proposal to aiframers in January for up to 200 narrowbody aircraft to replace its older narrowbody fleet of 757-200s, A319s and A320s and DC9-10s starting in 2013.

Boeing won the deal over the Airbus A320/320neo due to earlier delivery positions and price, we are told

• Delta Air Lines deferred the highly anticipated order for the
  100-150 seat airplane due to worries about taking on too much debt in
  the current economic environment. Multiple sources say Bombardier’s
  CSeries had been favored over the Embraer E-195.
  
• Delta’s RFP from Boeing didn’t include the re-engined airplane
  because at the time of the RFP, the 737RE didn’t exist. But we are 99%
  certain conversion rights will be in the final contract.
  
• The Airbus A321neo does have its promised EIS until 2017, and Airbus
  was unlikely to be able to offer production slots for this model until
  2019. Delta wants all aircraft delivered by 2018 and Airbus couldn’t
  meet this with the A321 Legacy, either. Plus the price was higher.

Singapore Airlines a annoncé avoir signé cette semaine un accord de location avec Airbus pour quinze A330-300. L'annonce de l'accord avait d'ores et déjà été faite en juin, sans signature de contrat.

Ces derniers lui seront livrés entre 2013 et 2015. La durée du contrat a été fixée à six ans au minimum, mais la compagnie détient une option pour la prolonger.

Ils desserviront routes asiatiques de la compagnie, mais aussi certaines liaisons vers l’Australie et le Moyen-Orient.

Les A330-300 commandés s’ajoutent aux dix-neuf A330-300s déjà mis en service par la compagnie.

* La commande de 110 appareils long-courriers, à la fois Airbus A350 EAD.PA et des Boeing 787 BA.N , "sous réserve de la finalisation des discussions en cours avec les constructeurs".
* Que la commande regroupe 50 commandes fermes et 60 options.
* Prévoir que cette commande soit financée par par le cash flow généré par les
opérations du groupe.

Que le choix de la motorisation du Boeing 787-9 sera effectué
ultérieurement. Les Airbus A350-900 seront quant à eux équipés du moteur
Rolls-Royce Trent XWB RR.L .
* Que la finalisation des contrats est prévue avant la fin de l'année.

Convention (NBAA) in Las Vegas next week. Delivery of the first Sukhoi Business Jet (SBJ) is expected in 2014, SJI CEO Carlo Logli said at the European Regions Airline Assn. (ERA) general assembly in Rome last week.

SCAC and SJI shareholders endorsed the development of the SBJ earlier this year and said they will target 80 to 100 orders in the next 20 years. The SBJ is the first variant of the SSJ100, which entered commercial service in April with Armavia (ATW Daily News, April 19). The second and third aircraft were delivered to Aeroflot in June and August, respectively (ATW Daily News, May 23).
