+3 CS100 pour qui ?
Bombardier's predicted CSeries order momentum is continuing after the airframer secured a firm order for three CS100 aircraft from an unnamed customer.
The latest order follows a firm commitment on 1 June for 10 aircraft by Braathens Leasing that broke a 15-month order drought for Bombardier's clean-sheet narrowbody aircraft.
Bombardier stated based on list prices for the CS100, the order is valued at $186 million, and if the unnamed customer exercises options it has taken for three additional aircraft, the total value of the agreement could reach $385 million. Deliveries to the carrier are scheduled to begin in 2014. While Bombardier said the carrier requested to remain unidentified, the airframer assured the customer was a "well-established airline".
Bombardier now has 103 firm orders for the CSeries split between 41 for the CS100 and 62 for the CS300.
Recently Bombardier Aerospace president Guy Hachey said the manufacturer should come close to reaching its goal of 300 orders by service entry for the CSeries. Bombardier expects a 2013 entry-into-service for the CS100.
"The orders announced last week and today confirm that the CSeries aircraft's widebody-style comfort, exceptional performance capabilities, low cash operating costs and environmental credentials make it an ideal air transport solution worldwide," said Chet Fuller, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft vice-president of sales, marketing and asset management.
