No failure having impact on the airworthiness was registered during the whole period of operation
Sukhoi Superjet 100 the first month in revenue service at Armavia fleet: 66 flights for the overall distance of 85800km performed. 2885 people became SSJ100 passengers.
On April, 21 2011, Sukhoi Superjet 100 performed its first commercial flight in “Armavia” fleet. The aircraft was put into operation in an extremely short period of time – in two days after the official delivery to the launch customer on April, 19 2011. The route of the first passenger flight with 96 passengers aboard was Yerevan-Moscow(Sheremetyevo)-Yerevan.
During the past month the aircraft has made 66 flights in total. All flights were performed at 35000 – 39000ft altitude, at the speed of 0.78-0.8 M.
Smooth and regular aircraft operation is the result of the perfect job done by highly professional “Armavia” team supported by the manufacturer of the aircraft.
SSJ100 performs flights to Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Odessa, Donetsk, Simferopol, Larnaka (Greece), Aleppo (Syria), Venice (Italy), Teheran (Iran), Rome (Italy), Tel-Aviv (Israel), Beirut (Lebanon), Lion (France).
The aircraft spent more than 168 hours in flight, took more than 2885 passengers to total distance of 85800 km. No failure having impact on the airworthiness was registered during the whole period of operation.
“SSJ100 perfectly fits “Armavia” fleet, containing mostly CRJ200, А319 and А320 aircraft. Owing to high economic efficiency and good operational capabilities we can schedule the aircraft both to regional and to short-haul routes - basing on current passenger load per each flight.” – stressed the owner of “Armavia” Mikhail Bagdasarov.
“It is a great aircraft and it allows intensive operation already at entry into service. Both crew and passengers receive only positive impressions. The aircraft is easy and comfortable to control, the cockpit is quiet and allows effortless communication between pilots. The cabin is spacious and comfortable too, the passengers do not have any difficulties while boarding or placing their baggage. Wide aisles provide the opportunity to serve food and beverages with maximum comfort even during short flights. The passengers can easily pass the flight attendant by while he is serving.” – adds SSJ100 Crew Chief Sergey Kharatyan.
Aeroflot will take delivery of its first Sukhoi Superjet 100 this week and plans to put it into service June 16, according to Superjet International Deputy Senior VP-Commercial Svetlana Issaeva.
In all, the Russian airline will receive 10 SSJ100s this year, she told reporters at last week's Regional Airline Assn. Annual Convention in Nashville. She noted that the first SSJ100 (SN95007) delivered to Armavia in April (ATW Daily News, April 20) has been operated on 54 flight cycles for a total of 105 flight hr. It has had 98% dispatch reliability, Issaeva said. She declined to release fuel burn statistics but said such figures will be revealed soon.
The SSJ100's EIS will allow Superjet International to market the aircraft to airlines around the world, she asserted. "With the aircraft in operation, it will be much easier for us to introduce it to a wide range of customers because the aircraft will speak for itself." She acknowledged that "it will take time" to convince Western airlines to purchase the SSJ100.
Meanwhile, an announcement about the next SSJ product could come as soon as June. "We are working internally in order to be able to introduce to the market the next generation of the family and I think by June we'll be able to do it," Issaeva said. "We've considered several options" in terms of size.
SSJ100 production rate is slated to reach 17 this year, 33 in 2012 and 60 by 2014.
Russian flag carrier Aeroflot has formally taken delivery of its first Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional jet.
The airline on 6 June signed a protocol of aircraft technical acceptance from the manufacturer and applied to register it with regulators.
It is expected to put the aircraft into revenue service between Moscow and St Petersburg on 16 June, ahead of the annual international economic forum in St Petersburg.
Aeroflot will become the second operator of the Superjet 100 after Armenian carrier Armavia, which has been operating the first serially-produced example of the type since 19 April.
Under the delivery schedule agreed with Sukhoi, Aeroflot is to receive 10 Superjets this year, a dozen in 2012 and eight in 2013.
United Aircraft is on the verge of deciding whether to launch a business jet version of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional airliner.
"In the nearest future we will take a decision on the creation of the business jet version on the platform of the SJ100," says United's chairman Mikhail Pogosyan, noting that the new variant would fall "somewhere in between traditional business jets such as the Gulfstream and the Boeing Business Jet".
The new version is being considered as a result of approaches from potential customers: "We had people coming to us saying: 'Why don't you make a business jet?'"
Pogosyan is reluctant to give many details at this stage, but says that additional fuel tanks in the cargo hold would give a range of almost 4,300nm (8,000km), more than double the Superjet's standard range of 1,620nm.
He is confident that the combination of cabin volume and low internal noise would fit the aircraft well for the new role.
Work with European airworthiness authority EASA is ongoing and should be largely finished by the end of this year, he believes. The Superjet has a head-start in gaining EASA certification as many of its major components are made by Western manufacturers and its SaM146 powerplants already have EASA approval.
At the same time, work on expanding the aircraft's operational envelope is continuing, with Category 3A landing performance undergoing testing.
We're ready to start work on a business version of the aircraft because the performance characteristics and the size of the cabin make us sure a business version will successfully enter the market," said Sukhoi Civil Aircraft chief Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk.
The aircraft's cabin could include a master bedroom, shower installations, business salon and communications equipment, he added.
Superjet International, which markets the Superjet airliner, estimated demand for the business version at 80 airframes over the next 20 years.
Chief executive Carlo Logli said the baseline price for the jet would be in the region of $50 million.
"We're impressed by the high number of requests from customers, VIP customers, who appreciated the cabin," he added.
United Aircraft chief Mikhail Pogosyan said it was a "good moment" to disclose a further development of the Superjet, and added that the company had "all the required resources" to convert the type into a business jet.
Prisyazhnyuk told Flightglobal that Sukhoi was working on a longer-range version of the Superjet, which would reduce the baseline jet's airframe weight and raise its fuel capacity, to increase the maximum take-off weight to around 49.5t.
But he admitted that, as a result of plans by United Aircraft to create a single airliner offering in each capacity sector, plans for a stretched Superjet were "too premature". The proposed 115- to 120-seat aircraft would remain as a study, he said.
June 21st, 2011, Le Bourget (France) - At Le Bourget Airshow Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company and Indonesian regional carrier PT Sky Aviation signed the Heads of Agreement (HOA) for the delivery of 12 Sukhoi Superjet 100/95B aircraft. The order is valued at 379.2 million USD at list prices. The document was signed by Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk, President of JSC «Sukhoi Civil Aircraft» and Krisman Tarigan, President Director Sky Aviation.
Under the document signed, deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2012.
«Indonesia is a country with stable economic growth. Its geographic and demographic situation contributes to the fast development of air transportation in the region. Such conditions are extremely favorable for the entry into market of the new airlines successfully developing upcoming rout network. And PT Sky Aviation is among them. I strongly believe that Sky Aviation’s experience in flying SSJ100, will contribute to the expansion of our penetration to the South East Asia market», - stated Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk.

June 29, 2011 Toulouse, France - EASA experts started inspections of Sukhoi Superjet 100 at Blagnac airport in Toulouse - as part of validation of IAC AR Type Certificate procedure.
During the inspections, the compliance of the systems and airframe of the aircraft SN 97005 with EASA requirements is to be checked. EASA launched the check activities on June 27, 2011 and will continue the inspections until July 10, 2011. A total of 15 flights will be performed with participation of EASA pilots in order to accomplish the required tests.
“EASA certification is a top priority milestone for the entire SSJ100 program and partners. We look forward to continuing the successful collaboration with EASA and will certainly do our best to receive EASA certificate, having in mind that in 2012 SuperJet International is going to start the deliveries to the Mexican customer - Interjet airlines. I’m sure that the European certification will boost the SSJ100 backlog growth in the international markets” – said JSC Sukhoi Civil Aircraft First Vice-President for design and certification Igor Vinogradov.
